I find it slightly ironic that you list women like Kendra Wilkinson (famous for being a Playboy Bunny) on your pin interest 'favourite celebrities', and have shown your support for Kim Kardashian (who fundamentally launched her whole career from a sex tape, which she probably leaked herself), surely this goes against everything that you have previously said about women being treated like sex objects? Not trying to be a bitch, just curious as to the difference in your view. What kind of feminist would I be if I hated certain women because they had worked in the sex industry or had been filmed having sex? It is not only anti-feminist to shun women who have been involved in the sex industry, but it’s also really misogynistic. My stance on pornography outright rejects putting any kind of blame on the female victims, and I strongly resist putting blame on consumers as well (tough at times, I admit). My anger is directed towards the individuals and corporations who exploit girls like Kendra and Kim. I know that’s not a popular stance to take in a world obsessed with personal responsibility, but I don’t care. I like people for who they are, not what they look like or who they’ve had sex with. For example, I love Coco Austin because she’s got a kind heart, and I love Kendra Baskett because she’s got energy and a great outlook on life. |
